MS Library

Welcome to the Mount Horeb Middle School Library!

The library is open daily from 7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Students must have a pass during the school day. No passes are needed before or after school to visit the library.

Students are able to check out a maximum of 6 items (not counting their school-issued chromebook). We have a large selection of playaway audiobooks, movies, and of course, books for checkout. All materials have a two week checkout period.

Overdue notes will be printed and distributed to students the first Wednesday of every month. Students with severely overdue items may be prohibited from checking out any more until the issue is resolved.

Osmo is an ipad-compatible technology that allows students to practice spelling, utilize tangram blocks for spatial reasoning skills, draw a masterpiece, and learn coding with Coding Jam blocks.

Ozobot robots can be coded to work with just 4 marker colors--red, green, blue and black. Watch the Youtube video clips below to get started. The library also has several books to help teach you the coding language for Ozobots.

Use this color-coded pdf to learn how to code Ozobot without any software! All you need is an ozobot, 4 markers, and a blank piece of paper!

Destiny Discover

Destiny Discover is our library's online system.

Students are welcome to put their own books on hold or to visit a library staff member to ask to put a book on hold. Simply use the Destiny Discover link, sign in with Google, and you are ready to put a book on hold! See the video and written directions on how to place a hold.

Our ebook collection is also available for immediate checkout. Use the Destiny Discover icon to check out the book and read it in your browser on nearly every type of device! Be sure to scroll down to the ebook section to check out the book. Video directions for this procedure are linked here.

Sora Ebooks and Audiobooks

I'm excited to announce our library has now joined the Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium! Students can download the app or use this link to visit the site on their Chromebooks.

Once you click the link, simply choose the Mt. Horeb School District and log in with your Google student account. This site works for all students in the district (6th through 12th grade)! The Sora app offers magazines, ebooks, audiobooks, and comics/manga titles. You can connect your public library account here too, for even more reading choices!

Vision: The middle school library will provide reading materials for all students.
